Downstairs - Once you enter the doors at Remember When you will find a large variety of Antique cupboard/cabinets, cut glass crystal, tobacco memorabilia, and many other items to plunder through. Up front you will also find a collection of jewelry, both estate and new. In the “Dining Room” portion of our store you will begin to see many of Philip's custom built pieces, which are all made from reclaimed wood and architectural salvage. Primitive cabinets and home décor are also located in our Dining Room, along with a small portion of our advertising collection. Next up – The General Store!

Located in the back is our general store! It houses all “Goodness Grows in NC” products such as jams, jellies, salsas, hot sauces, spices, cheeses & Butter. North Carolina made soaps and lotions are available in our General Store along with realistic candles from Mirage and Liown. Oh, and we can’t forget our line of “Poo-Pourri!”

Philip Paulsen, one of Remember When’s owners, purchased an old Tobacco Warehouse in Oxford that houses his very eclectic blend of Architectural Salvage. Years of collecting and junkin’ around has amassed an extensive inventory from the smallest, to the most primitive, to the finer antique pieces.

Since then, he has added a vast selection of beams, doors, mantles, windows, down to the screws & nails that held it all together. Philip has always had the eye for the unusual, so his love for Architectural Salvage has allowed him to build one-of-a-kind, unique, reclaimed pieces of furniture for his business “Rusty Roof & Nail.” Many of his custom pieces make their way through Remember When’s doors.

Check out our website's gallery for Rusty Roof & Nail to see some of Philip's Projects. If you have a vision for that perfect piece, let us know! Special Orders are our favorite! Some of Philip's projects have included farm tables of any size, kitchen Islands, buffets and sideboards, cabinets, custom lighting (lamps and floor lamps), beds built of reclaimed wood and more!

Also, in the warehouse there is an abundance of flooring, mantles, and doors available for projects of your own! If you want to build your own special piece of furniture, we’ve likely got the supplies you need!

WAREHOUSE IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC – OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ANYTHING SPECIFIC. (919)693-3112.
